Judy K. Peabody – Candidate for Luray Town Council
Campaigning for a place on Luray Town Council is not about me, but about you, the citizens of Luray. We need candidates that are about the people, but not themselves. I’m running not to help my business, my reputation or to right a wrong by an opponent. I am running because I have the skills that can help our community achieve incredible things.
What three key attributes do I have which will be used to help this community inclusively make things better?
Vision: As a former tourist, turned resident and later business owner, I have a unique set of experiences which allow me to see Luray from a variety of perspectives. Luray is a beautiful place to visit, live and work, but there is a lot more to do! I see the deficiencies and feel a new perspective will bring change when making decisions having an effect on the community.
Experience: Known for my top relationship building skills, I have had worked with top companies on the East Coast often serving as a calming factor in tense situations. My award winning customer service skills made Peabody’s ‘Hip Little Stay’ B&B an award winning business for five years. My history includes over ten years of paralegal experience.
Drive: As a single parent who raised two children alone with little or no child support, I took the initiative to earn two degrees while working full-time. In addition, I worked multiple jobs for five years to start my business, Peabody’s LLC. I will do whatever it takes to show up and complete the work!
